Once the SIPs are installed, SIGA Majcoat - the permeable roof underlayment - is layed of top of the panel.
Overlaps are sealed with SIGA Wigluv 60.

1x3 furring strips, nailed ontop of the SIGA Majcoat, will create a vented gap.
To prevent water from entering the SIPs through the nail holes, SIGA Nail Sealing Tape II is installed under the strip.
A layer of plywood on top serves as the sheating to mount the shingles onto.
Covering the roof is easy and quick.

So what's the benefit of this roof?
- no shingle nails penetrate the SIP panel
- no water enters the SIP panel (thanks to SIGA Majcoat which is drvining rain proof)
- no condensation builds up (the diffusion open Majcoat let's moisture dry out)
No vapor will enter the assembly from the inside. The interior SIP joints are sealed with SIGA Rissan 60
